Juvenile Justice Outreach Summer Program
We’re so excited to have you learn about horseback riding with us!
At this event, you will learn the basics of trail riding, horse care, and safety, as well as trail etiquette and horsemanship. We will practice on-ground horse handling and riding to gain confidence with your new equestrian friend before we do any pony rides.
Kids, parents, and volunteers: anyone who is joining us on this epic journey will need to purchase registration and fill out the rider information form. If you are registering multiple people at once, please fill out a new form for each person. If you have filled out a rider form in person then you do not need to submit one here.
Here is a list of what you will need for your ride:
Closed-toed shoes with a heel (no tennis shoes)
A jacket and poncho/raincoat in case of bad weather
Jeans/denim pants, no shorts
Water to drink and a light snack
Sunscreen and bug spray
Please make sure kiddos do not bring any electronic games or toys, as they are likely to get damaged or lost on the trail. Kids are welcome to have cell phones, but they should only be used in case of emergency. We do not allow texting and riding for the safety of the horse and the rider.
Phones or small cameras may be used for pictures during the ride.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about these items and we are happy to help clarify anything.
